ANAABU™ garments are designed through the lens of observers and wanderers of the evolution of clothing. We are fascinated by how garments warp from time to time—how people and cultures move across the world, encountering one another and exchanging ideas.
That is how MONO was inspired from.
We hold deep respect for the lineage from which our traditional garments come from.
Knots, draping, layering, and drawstring were the forerunners of low-tech mechanisms that we have today. Rooted in a monochrome palette, MONO is all about the elegance of these techniques.
Each piece avoids rigid hardware in favour of intuitive and practical functionality. The absence of colour emphasises textures and geometric forms, creating a wardrobe that honours the enduring wisdom of garment history.
Featuring in this drop is The Asymmetrical Batwing Top, The Asymmetrical Vest, The Dropped-Crotch Culottes, and The Dress.

The Asymmetrical Batwing Top is a subtle rebellion against the traditional button-down by borrowing the sculptural panel and knotting them with off-center seams, made for the ones who dare to be different.

The Dropped-Crotch Culottes offers generous volume for comfort and movement. Deep cargo pockets echo the function of utility gear, and can be tucked in or tucked out seamlessly against the drop-crotch cutting pants.
The Asymmetrical Vest is a piece that reimagines the simple tie-front vest for the modern closet. Layered paneling gives a crafted weight, while simple side ties lets the wearer adjust the fit to their preferences.

Something familiar but not quite - The Dress, builds dramatic volume out of normal shape. Wide side gussets expand from the shoulders before it can gather itself gently toward the hem. Tie it downwards for a grounded effect, or bring it to one shoulder for a modern look. This turns a simple dress into an exhibition of movement, flowing with every step while giving a freedom to a fluid silhouette.

Like an imaginary tribe in monotone, warping through time.

Building on this philosophy, MONO extends its narrative in a special extension collaboration with CLUB21, together introducing - MONOˣ. This extension brings our monotone vision into dialogue with their curated design, featuring The Jacket Shawl, The Boxy Tee, and The Skants.
Exciting to this curation is The Jacket Shawl. Designed around the poetic gesture of draping, the integrated scarf panel transforms a jacket into something more.

The Boxy Tee is a meditation from the formal. By exposing the seams and leaving the edges unrefined, this tee rejects rigid polish in favour of honest construction.
The Skants is an exploration of duality. Bridging the soft, expressive motion of a skirt with the rooted stability of trousers, this piece challenges the idea of simplicity. The front fold creates a dynamic play of form, allowing the silhouette to transform from a pants to a surprise wrapped sarung.

Ultimately, MONO hopes to serve as a tribute to the resourcefulness of historical garment design into a foundational staple appreciated by the modern keen eyes.
